Thirteen-year-old Starling ‘Star’ Cooney lives with her grandfather, Roy, in Rocky Point. She has not made any friends; in fact Roy and her pets are her only real connections. That is, until new student Bronte arrives.

Annie Drum is a central Victorian writer whose short fiction and poetry appear in anthologies and on the Memoria podcast. Her debut collection, Like Trees (Pomonal Publishing, 2016), launched at Clunes Booktown. She has undertaken a writing retreat in The Netherlands and received mentorship from Toni Jordan. Her years as a social worker with young people inform her storytelling.
